234 further coronavirus cases in South Lanarkshire
The number of coronavirus cases in South Lanarkshire increased by 234 in the last 24 hours, official figures show.
A total of 37,592 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in South Lanarkshire when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on September 14 (Tuesday), up from 37,358 on Monday.

Hide AdThe rate of infection in South Lanarkshire now stands at 11,718 cases per 100,000 people, far higher than the Scotland average of 9,373.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 26,251 over the period, to 7,282,810.
However, there were no new coronavirus deaths recorded in the latest 24-hour period in South Lanarkshire.
The dashboard shows 671 people had died in the area by September 14 (Tuesday) – which was unchanged from Monday.

Hide AdIt means there have been five deaths in the past week, which is an increase on three the previous week.
They were among 8,263 deaths recorded across Scotland.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in South Lanarkshire.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death, so some areas might see their figures revised down.
The figures also show that nearly nine in 10 people in South Lanarkshire have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Hide AdThe latest figures show 232,955 people had received both jabs by September 12 (Sunday) – 88% of those aged 16 and over, based on mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Across Scotland, 83% of people aged 16 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
