Lanark-born Charlie Flynn wins Commonwealth gold
LANARK-born boxing hero Charlie Flynn was taking a well earned rest this week after his heroics in winning Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow.
Charlie (20), who triumphed for Scotland in the lightweight class, told Gazette Sport on Monday morning that he’d been enjoying a long lie after attending Sunday night’s spectacular closing ceremony at Hampden Park.
“I’m like a sack of tatties lying on my bed,” he said. “I cannot move.”
