Motherwell boss Robbo: We need VAR to prevent more red cards like Cedric Kipre's
Robbo, speaking exclusively to the Motherwell Times, was flabbergasted that the giant French defender received his marching orders after an innocuous clash with Celtic skipper Scott Brown in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Fir Park.
Robbo, who revealed he is also championing the introduction of video assistant referee (VAR) in Scotland, said: “We are putting the appeal in against Cedric’s red card and we think we have a very good case.
“Everybody saw that it wasn’t a red card.

“I think VAR would certainly have helped us against Celtic because the decision would have been overturned, certainly.
“I’ve spoken in the past with the authorities about the possibility of them introducing VAR in our league, but the cost implications would probably rule it out in Scotland unfortunately.”
Kipre’s case will be heard by Hampden beaks at a fast track tribunal tomorrow (Thursday).
