Town centre footbridge to be demolished
The town centre landmark has been sealed off for many years for safety reasons.
However Campsies Centres (Cumbernauld) Ltd will soon spend £1 million replacing it with a new crossing. This fulfils a contractual stipulation around approving the Antonine Centre, as Campsies is required to provide a complete walking route around the town centre without doubling back.

Hide AdBut questions are being raised as to whether there is any point in replacing the Tummel Way bridge, with a suggestion that the money might be better invested in sprucing up the town centre bus station.
