The appliance of science
The event, held in the Bishopbriggs school, was attended by 12 representatives from industry, business and universities who held mini workshops to demonstrate their jobs to pupils and spoke to them about career choices.
In small groups, the pupils had some practical experience of working with the NHS, Cancer Research, Diageo, Tony Gee, Arcadis, Ramboll, M&D Pharmacies as well as various Strathclyde and Glasgow University Departments.

Hide AdCouncillor Maureen Henry, convener of education, said: “Events like this are so valuable to young people deciding what type of career they wish to pursue. The contributors who came along were able to show pupils a bit about their work and answer questions about subject choice and what skills are needed in jobs.“
