Motorist on wilful fire raising charge

A 25-year-old man was charged by police in Bishopbriggs early on Sunday for attempting to set a car ablaze.

The motorist was charged with wilful fire raising and driving under the influence of drink. He also faces charges of careless driving, being in possession of cannabis and a number of other road traffic offences.

He was arrested by officers around 5am at Crowhill Road in the town.
