Marathon route takes in southside
THE southside will play a pivotal part of the Glasgow 2014 marathon route, it was announced this week.
Starting and finishing at Glasgow Green, the 26.2 mile race will cross the Clyde via the squinty bridge to take in Bellahouston and Pollok Parks, as well as passing Hampden stadium, another Commonwealth Games venue.
The event is on Sunday, July 27, and spectators won’t need a ticket to watch as the marathon is one of three free events taking place across the city.
