Hill Rig windfarm angers Kilncadzow locals
Suzanne (58), who has lived in a small farmhouse in Yieldshields Road for 12 years, says that the eight-turbine windfarm – with windmills up to 130m high – would “impact on my life tremendously” if it was built.
“They are very large turbines which would ruin the rural landscape around here,” she said. “So I’m really worried about the noise and visual impact of this windfarm being significant.

Hide Ad“Seeing massive turbines which are nearly the same height as the Forth Road Bridge from my front window is a very concerning prospect.”
As reported last week, Community Windpower Ltd have officially lodged their proposal for Kilncadzow-based Hill Rig Windfarm with South Lanarkshire Council. The turbines would generate 28 megawatts of energy per year powering over 17,000 homes.
Last week we revealed the concerns of local man Lawrence Lovell, who said that windfarms had already reached ‘saturation point’.
