Clydesdale is windfarm capital
So claim campaigners, seeking a halt to the explosion in the `green’ energy wind turbines that are popping up throughout the area with plenty more to come.
While much of the area’s anti-windfarm attention has been drawn by the fight by Kilncadzow and Cartland residents against two giant turbines being erected on their doorstep, Gazette researches have revealed that planning applications to build nearly NINETY more turbines in the Clydesdale countryside have been lodged in just the past THREE months.

Hide AdAn inspection of South Lanarkshire Council planning documents back to the start of August show that, should all be granted permission, there will hardly be any part of Clydesdale’s countryside free of at least one turbine, some up to 400 feet tall.
