IDENTICAL twins Hannah (right) and Sophie Vennard won joint second place in this year's Scottish Wildlife Trust art competition.
And there was a bit of a twist in the tail of how the 10-year-old Milngavie Primary School girls became joint runners-up.

Hundreds of entries were received from across East Dunbartonshire's primary schools and after choosing the winner, the panel of judges couldn't decide which entries should take second and third places — so they decided to give them joint seond-equal status.

Patricia Stewart of the SWT explained: "There was nothing to suggest there was any relationship between the two entrants. The entries were on different size and weights of paper and on different subject matters.
Although names were on the back, we didn't look at these until after we had made the decision to go for a joint-equal second place.
"We couldn't believe it when we realised twins had submitted the entries."
