Call to classic car owners to fill gap in display
Over 100 vintage vehicles were due to go on display at the station car park next Saturday, September 8.
However, a single car club has withdrawn 49 vehicles as a mark of respect to their chairman, who recently passed away.

“I must admit, it came as a bit of a shock,” said Giann Celino, the chair of the Giffnock BID organising group and restaurateur at Andiamo’s on Fenwick Road.
“Their chairman’s funeral is only a few days before they event and they did not think it was appropriate to be putting on a show in Giffnock.”
Mr Celino wants locals to look in their garage and see if there’s a Buick or Bentley just waiting for an airing.

He added: “We’d be delighted to hear from anyone who has an attractive car that might turn a few heads.
“We will look after the owner on the day. They will be fed and watered to show we appreciate their participation.”
So go on. Dig out the Daimler. Crank up the Corvette. And join thousands of visitors for the highlight of the year in Giffnock Village.
