STUNNING Charlene McCallum is hoping to make a splash in the world of fashion modelling as she entered the fifth round of Scotland's biggest modelling competition this week — Uber Girl 2009.
The 23-year-old qualified hairdresser, who now works at Allander Leisure in Bearsden as a lifeguard, said she had decided to take the plunge and follow her dreams because "life is too short to have regrets."
Charlene will find out on Monday if she is through to round seven following the weekly text vote that eliminates the bottom five per cent.
The Milngavie girl said: "I was always too shy to enter competitions when I was younger, so this is a great experience. It will hopefully give me the confidence to pursue a modelling career.
"The competition runs until August, so I know I've got a long way to go, but fingers crossed I won't get knocked out next week."
The former Douglas Academy pupil has already done some glamour modelling but says if she won this competition it could be her passport into the world of fashion modelling.
The winner of the competition will be chosen by a panel of four judges plus a public vote acting as the fifth judge. The winner will receive £10,000, a year's free modelling contract and an exotic holiday and photo shoot. The winner also features in the Uber Girl calendar 2010.
To vote for Charlene text UBER 15 to 63333 or phone 0901 307 1177 (15).
Calls and texts cost 50p and a percentage goes to Breast Cancer Research. Text voting will run until August 8.
