Author's son on music scene
THE son of popular Bearsden children's author, Julia Donaldson, spoke this week about how his mum's songs and music during his childhood inspired him to enter a career in music.
Glasgow University student, Ally, hopes his band Latonic will be as big a hit as his mum's books — she wrote the best-selling book The Gruffalo — about a mythical monster, which has been translated into 34 languages and sold more than a million copies worldwide.

The five member group, made up of frontman Grant Nichol (24), guitarist Andy Pollard (25), bassist Stuart Greig (24), guitarist Jay Connelly (22) and drummer Ally will be touring the same time that Ally's mum and dad Malcolm will be touring the country with their storytelling sessions, talks on the Gruffalo and her other 70-odd books.
