A PRETTY Milngavie girl is going to be the first Scots lass to represent the UK in Miss Teen Britain this year.
April Stuart-MacRae (16) was delighted to win 'Miss Teen Beauty Queen 2009' recently in the Cheshire final.
She will now represent Miss Teen Britain in Chicago, Illinois in July.
April faced some tough opposition as there were thousands in the heats all over the country, and she competed against 30 beauties in the final.
April wore three dresses generously lent to her by Glitz gowns in Kilmarnock, who have supported her from the start of her career in beauty contests.
The girls were judged all day on manners, intelligence, interviewed on their views, discipline and getting on with others.
As well as being named Miss Teen Britain, April won the talent section for her performance of a Beyonce dance — she was presented with another sash and crown for this, which meant that she left the event with two crowns and sashes!
Her mum, Anne Marie Stuart-MacRae, said: "April is so excited, she can't believe it, she's still on cloud nine.
"It's been a busy two weeks, she is also sitting her standard grades just now but is finding it hard to come back down to earth!
"April just wants to be famous for her career and the interviewer on the night at the Miss Teen Beauty Queen final said she has been a little star all day, and if she keeps up being the kind of person that she is, she will get her wish."
Glitz have also kindly contacted their suppliers and they are going to supply her with a dress worth £3,000 for her to wear in Chicago. She also has won a shopping trip to a shop in London to spend up to £250 on another dress.
April also won nine trophies in the European dance championships including 1st for the adult hip hop. April would like to thank McMonagles in Clydebank for sponsoring her and her dance teacher Robert Hamilton for all his support.
